Red Stars sign Washington, Weber

06/04/2010 - Bridgeview, IL (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Chicago Red Stars signed midfielder Nikki Washington and defender Elise Weber on Friday.

Washington and Weber were available following the dissolution of Saint Louis Athletica last week. Chicago also released defender Ifeoma Dieke and forward Michele Weissenhofer to sign the two free agents.

Washington was placed on the team's 18-player first-team roster and could play Sunday against the Atlanta Beat. Weber was named to Chicago's developmental roster.

Per team policy, terms of their contracts are not released.
